The sculpture, originally cast in concrete, is one of the first public art pieces in Skövde. It was donated to the town in 1946 by the company Gambrinus and was for many years placed outside the railway hotel (today pharmacy and offices) but was moved to the Cultural Center block Oden. In the 1980’s the sculpture was stored after extensive damages, and not until 1995, after a recasting in bronze, “Sommar” (Summer) recieved a new place in a much calmer environment: the new City Hall Park north of Skövde City Hall.
