Adjacent to the outdoor café seating in the Helens Park we find the oldest secular building in Skövde. Helens cabin (named after the last owner Charlotta Helen) is probably erected in the beginning of the 1700’s. Back in the days we could find small farms here, and now at least a pair of the domestic cattle are back. By the entrance to the park the sassy goat greats us, while the shy, hesitant ram is a little bit more to himself. The idea that the sculptor had behind the sculptures was that they would blend in to the environment – that’s why we find them in the grass, and not on a foundation, although they are secured in the ground. The goat and the ram are mostly the children’s pets, and the more caressing they recieve – the more beautiful the bronze becomes.
