”Fågel Fenix” (The bird Phoenix), that is the symbol of hope is part of the Stockholm based artist Torsten Renqvists big sculpture group ”Noaks Ark” (Noah’s Ark). Here in Skövde this bird, made out of plated bronze, lives a life outside the Ark. With its modest format it breaks the dominance of the building and welcomes the visitors to the entrance. If the shape of the bird’s silhouette is completed, you get a ring that symbolizes the sun. The Phoenix reminds us that life begins every morning – he burned every evening, but was born again out of his own ash every morning.
